Responsible Gaming

You decide how gambling fits into your life, and the habits below help keep it a paid-for pastime rather than a problem. This page also explains plainly what this site can and cannot do for you if you want to stop.

Set Your Limits Before You Play

Decide the amount you are willing to lose before you start, and treat that money as already spent. A number fixed in advance is made with a clear head. A number chosen mid-session is made under the pull of the last result. Once you think of the money as spent, a loss is the expected cost of the entertainment rather than something you need to win back.

Keep gambling away from borrowed money. Credit, loans and money set aside for bills turn a loss into a debt that lasts long after the session ends.

Refuse to Chase Losses and Take Breaks

Never raise your stakes to recover what you have lost. Each bet is independent, so a losing run does not make a win more likely. Chasing only makes the hole deeper, and it makes it deeper faster.

Step away regularly. Time passes quickly during play, and a break gives you a chance to check your spending against the amount you decided on.

Reach Out to Someone Early

When gambling stops feeling like entertainment, tell someone you trust. Do not wait until it feels serious. Talking early is easier than explaining a larger problem later.

This page, like every page of this site, carries links to five independent sources of help:

  • BeGambleAware
  • Gamble Aware
  • Gambling Therapy
  • G GamCare Gambling Support: Starts Here
  • NCPG

These are the only non-commercial outbound links on the site. Unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking. They are set to nofollow and open in a separate tab on each organisation's own website. This site receives nothing when you follow them.

Know What This Site Cannot Do for You

Spending caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods and self-exclusion are controls you arrange inside your own account at the destination where you play. This site has no account, no form and no server-side application. Nothing published here can switch one of those controls on, check one or enforce one.

This site does not verify anyone's age, and no gambling takes place on it. Any check of that kind happens at the destination. The eighteen-and-over restriction is repeated throughout the site, including on the front page.

No advertising or behavioural profiling network is present in these pages. Nothing here is targeted at you based on how you have behaved.
